In the beginning...
The founder Richard Huntley started in the construction industry as a Superintendent of Construction in the mid 1970’s. He was put in charge to coordinate and complete one of three phases of new homes for a Orange County Developer. His objective was to oversee and complete all phases of construction. Each of the thirty-two houses needed to be completed on schedule. The homeowners received their newly built homes and all 32 homeowners signed their personal letter of acceptance to the developer, on schedule.
Richard attended LBCC, UCSB and CSULB where he completed his college internships. A few years later, a business associate who had worked with Richard Huntley, asked if him if he could help him build his Los Angeles based Construction firm. Richard said he could, and explained to him that their new company would have to dramatically change their current philosophy of doing business. He also wanted to make their company larger and more personal throughout the greater Los Angeles area. A partnership was formed and the first order of business was to re-establish their new ideals for their re-organized company. “Give the customer the finest quality of work at an affordable cost. Treat every customer as if you would like to be treated. Always be available to communicate with your customers. And finally, always do a first class job.” In the years of implementing their new business philosophy toward their Los Angeles based construction firm, they soon became known as the number one remodeling company in the greater Los Angeles area.
In 2005 Richard Huntley dissolved the Los Angeles partnership and wanted to start fresh with his own new construction company based in Orange County. HFC still holds to its same principals of doing business today and is continuing to strive to be Southern California’s #1 home remodeling company.
